On the second day with another under par score of 71 with 3 birdies, Ng Ah Hock of Malaysia finished runner up and Mohamed Redhza of Singapore finished 2nd runner up.
“With my first overseas win I will improve my ranking in WAGR (World Amateur Golf Ranking). At present I am located in top 900 golf players of the world. With this win I might move to top 800. This will consolidate my entry into the inaugural Junior President Cup International team lead by Great Garry Player vs Americans. It will be played from 24-27 September at Plainfield Country Club in Edison New Jersey USA. I am already in the watch list for this match from India” said Aadil from Singapore.
I will play six more WAGR based event including four big matches in July in USA and 2 IGU Amateur at Hyderabad and Coimbatore in June in India. This will give me a fair amount of chance to move up in World Ranking to qualify for all elite events in the world.
Aadil added that I had to wait for 11 overseas tournaments to register my first win. I was on the leader board couple of time before and missed very close chances particularly the World Cup last year in the US. This time I managed to put ice in my nervous system to keep cool under pressure. Instead of holding on the lead this time I attacked the golf course and 3 more birdies on the opening nine and 4 more birdies on the back nine with 2 bogies brings scintillating 65 on last day with thunderstorm hit the golf course. Scoring condition was very difficult in rain and wind on fast greens.
Aadil was the only player who broke under par rounds on all 3 days.
The match was hosted by society of Singapore golfers. This three day WAGR International championship witnessed 40 golfers from overseas. President Raymond Tan congratulated the Chandigarh Golf Association’s (CGA) President CSR Reddy and IGU President Satish Aprajit and ensured more invitation to Indian Amateur Golfers next year”.
