The Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP), Dharamshala, and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in teaching, research, extension activities, and community service.
The MoU was signed on Monday in the presence of Prof. Sat Parkash Bansal, Vice Chancellor of CUHP, and Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, Vice Chancellor of BBAU, along with senior academic and administrative officials from both institutions.
The collaboration aims to promote academic excellence, multidisciplinary learning, and the revival of Bhartiya Gyan Parampara, while supporting the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It also aligns with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Under the agreement, the universities will engage in faculty and student exchange programmes, joint research projects, collaborative academic programmes, capacity building, and skill-based education. Special emphasis will be placed on Indian Knowledge Systems, experiential learning, curriculum restructuring, and multidisciplinary approaches.
The institutions will also jointly organise seminars, conferences, faculty development programmes, and short-term courses, as well as collaborate on research proposals, innovation initiatives, start-ups, patents, and digital learning projects.
The five-year MoU is non-financial in nature. Both Vice Chancellors highlighted that collaborations among central universities are crucial for enhancing academic quality, research output, and opportunities for students in India’s evolving higher education landscape.
