In a strong message promoting environmental conservation, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla today participated in a tree plantation event at the Herbal Garden of Gaggal Airport as part of the ‘Yatri Seva Diwas’ celebrations, organized by the Airport Authority of India.
Planting a sapling on the occasion, the Governor highlighted the importance of afforestation and green initiatives in achieving a sustainable balance between development and ecology. He noted that such efforts are crucial not only for improving air quality and biodiversity but also for ensuring a healthy environment for future generations.
Speaking at the event, Governor Shukla urged citizens to actively engage in plantation drives and take collective responsibility for protecting nature. He emphasized that afforestation should be a statewide movement and a shared civic duty.
The event saw the presence of Deputy Commissioner of Kangra Hemraj Berwa, Director of Gaggal Airport Dhirendra Singh, and several officials from the Airport Authority of India, along with local staff who joined hands in the plantation activity.
The occasion served as a reminder of the ongoing need to integrate environmental stewardship with public initiatives and infrastructure development.
