Auckland House School for Boys etched its name into the record books by securing its first-ever Zonal ASISC U-19 Cricket Tournament title at Kullu Valley School, achieving a landmark feat in the institution’s sporting history.
The team showcased outstanding grit, discipline, and teamwork throughout the competition, culminating in a memorable championship victory. In a thrilling final against Sacred Heart School, Auckland House School for Boys set a challenging target after posting 142/5 in 12 overs.
Sacred Heart School responded with determination but fell short of the target, finishing at 128/5, as Auckland House School for Boys sealed a convincing 14-run victory to lift the coveted trophy.
Leading the charge was Anurag Thakur, whose explosive knock of 38 runs from just 12 deliveries, including three sixes and four boundaries, turned the game in his team’s favour. His stellar performance earned him both the Man of the Match and Best Batsman awards. Shashwat Thakur was named Best Bowler after delivering a superb spell of 2 wickets for 11 runs in 2 overs.
The championship-winning campaign reflected a complete team effort, with the squad’s consistent performances throughout the tournament earning all players qualification for the upcoming Regional ASISC Tournament.
