Auckland House School for Boys brought the world of literature vividly to life at its Annual Exhibition, World Within Words, turning a traditional school event into an immersive journey through stories, characters, and imagination.
Far from a typical display, the exhibition captivated visitors by transforming literary classics into dynamic performances and artistic creations. Students reenacted beloved tales such as The Thirsty Crow, Humpty Dumpty, King Midas’ Golden Touch, Alice in Wonderland, and Gulliver’s Travels. A witty puppet show featuring Tenalirama and dramatizations from Malgudi Days offered both humor and nostalgia.
The exhibition also tackled profound themes with performances inspired by The Diary of a Young Girl, Letters from War, and depictions of mythological figures like Medusa. These pieces explored humanity, existentialism, and the consequences of conflict. A moving enactment of the Ashok Vatika scene from the Ramayana rooted the program deeply in cultural heritage.
Intricate dioramas drew wide admiration for their creativity and attention to detail, acting as visual portals into the books they represented. Meanwhile, interactive zones such as the Puzzle Corner, Story Sequence Challenge, and Author-Work Match added an element of fun to the learning experience.
Chief Guest S.N. Joshi praised the students and faculty, calling the exhibition “a journey into a wonderland of imagination and not just a regular display.”
The event also fostered community spirit, welcoming students from other Shimla institutions including Loreto Convent, Laureate Public School, and St. Bede’s College. Their participation enriched the event through a shared celebration of storytelling and student creativity.
