Auckland Boys Steal the Spotlight at Heritage Ride – International Youth Day

The students of Auckland House School for Boys made a notable impact at the Heritage Cycling Ride held to mark International Youth Day. Organised by the Himalayan Adventure Sports and Tourism Promotion Association (HASTPA), the event was a vibrant celebration of youth energy, health, and social responsibility.

Among the standout performers was Agney Singh Grover, who clinched the Best Slogan Award for his powerful and socially conscious message: Pedal with Pride, Keep Drugs Aside. His slogan captured the spirit of the event, which aimed to raise awareness about drug prevention and HIV/AIDS while promoting a fit and active lifestyle.

The ride attracted 35 cyclists, including students from leading institutions such as St. Edward’s, Lawrence School Sanawar, Loreto Convent Tara Hall, Dayanand Public School, Stokes Memorial, and Auckland House School, along with several local cycling enthusiasts.

The event was a blend of competition and cause, delivering strong messages on fitness, healthy living, and saying “No to Drugs.” Participants also engaged with themes of HIV/AIDS awareness, making the ride both meaningful and memorable.

Other category winners included:

  • Best Dress: Gurman Reen

  • Most Attractive Cycle: Punit Thakur (Stokes Memorial)

  • Youngest Rider: Vivan Sharma, 13 (St. Edward’s School)

  • Oldest Rider: Rajesh Gupta, 63

  • Spirit of Cycling Award: Meher Sharma

The Heritage Cycling Ride successfully combined sport, awareness, and youth engagement, highlighting the role of young individuals in shaping a healthier and more informed society.
