Auckland House School for Boys celebrated its Senior Section Annual Sports Day on May 24th with great zeal and sporting spirit. The event was graced by Vivek Bhatia, IAS, Special Secretary-cum-Principal Private Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, as the Chief Guest.
The day was marked by a vibrant display of athleticism and coordination, with a wide array of events ranging from the Guard of Honour and March Past to dynamic performances in Dumbbell P.T, Yoga, Lazium, Taekwondo, and Gymnastics. Competitive events included the Flat Race, Baton Relay, Basketball, Skating Race, and even fun contests like Musical Chair and Tug of War. Notably, the day featured exciting matchups such as Teachers vs Students and Ladies vs Gentlemen, adding to the festive atmosphere.
In his address, Bhatia encouraged students to embrace sports as a vital part of holistic development, highlighting the lifelong benefits of fitness and discipline. Principal Reuben John echoed this sentiment, stating, “It’s not just about winning but about participation and the spirit of teamwork that truly counts.”
The event concluded with a spirited Prize Distribution Ceremony, where outstanding performances were recognized and celebrated. The success of the Sports Day was a testament to the dedication of both students and staff, reinforcing the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals.
