Auckland House School, Shimla, proudly celebrated its 154th Founders’ Day on May 30, followed by a vibrant Annual School Carnival on May 31. The two-day festivities brought together students, alumni, faculty, and parents in a joyful celebration of tradition, creativity, and community.
The Founders’ Day began with a solemn prayer service led by Director-Principal Smaraki Samantaroy, featuring soul-stirring hymns and moments of reflection. The occasion was graced by former Bishop Smantaroy and Rubin T. John, Principal of Auckland House School for Boys. A colourful cultural programme followed, showcasing energetic dances, melodious musical performances, a rousing school band presentation, and an engaging English play. A highlight of the day was the spirited Tug of War between the Old Girls and Form XII students, with the alumni emerging victorious—adding a joyful and nostalgic note to the celebrations.

The festivities continued on May 31 with the Annual School Carnival, which transformed the school grounds into a bustling hub of excitement. Father Anil Sequeira, Principal of St. Edward’s School, Shimla, attended as Chief Guest and praised the vibrant spirit of the event, highlighting how it reflected the school’s values and creative culture.
The Carnival featured a wide array of stalls offering delicious food, fun games, mehndi, tattoos, handicrafts, artwork, souvenirs, and a lively jam session. The presence of students from other schools and enthusiastic participation of former Auckyites added to the festive atmosphere, making it a truly memorable occasion.
Together, the two-day celebration beautifully reflected Auckland House School’s commitment to holistic education—honouring its rich legacy, fostering student creativity, and nurturing a strong sense of community.
