Ayush systems have emerged as a key focus of global health dialogue, with India asserting its leadership in traditional and integrative medicine at the 3rd International Ayush Conference & Exhibition (IACE 2026). Inaugurating and addressing the valedictory session, Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, stated that “Ayush is no longer at the margins but at the centre of global health discourse” and reaffirmed India’s readiness to lead and collaborate for an integrated, human-centric global health ecosystem.

The three-day conference saw participation from representatives of 28 countries, including researchers, industry leaders, practitioners, and policymakers. Jadhav highlighted that Ayurveda, Yoga, Siddha, Unani, and Homoeopathy provide holistic solutions addressing physical, mental, and social wellbeing in harmony with nature, and that rising lifestyle disorders and mental health challenges worldwide call for evidence-based, preventive approaches.

A key outcome of the event was the deliberation on a draft international White Paper on Ayush interventions for mind-body health. The document aims to move the global understanding of traditional medicine from experience-based practice to structured, evidence-backed protocols, supporting integration into mainstream healthcare systems. Once finalised, it will serve as a reference for governments, academic institutions, and international organisations working on integrative medicine and public health policy.

The Minister also recalled the WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine in New Delhi and the Delhi Declaration, underscoring India’s commitment to safety standards, evidence generation, and responsible integration of traditional medicine. IACE 2026 further advanced this agenda by promoting joint research programmes, academic exchanges, regulatory harmonisation, investment partnerships, and the expansion of medical value travel and Ayush services. Jadhav stressed the importance of quality assurance, pharmacopeial compliance, and international certification to ensure global acceptance of Ayush products and services.

Jadhav emphasised that such international platforms strengthen scientific dialogue, healthcare diplomacy, and trust among nations, positioning Ayush as a bridge connecting cultures and health systems while supporting preventive care and global health security. He expressed confidence that the conference outcomes would translate into actionable collaborations, institutional partnerships, and enhanced recognition of Ayush as a credible contributor to global healthcare.
