Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh in association with Abhilasha Arts Shimla organized a scholarship fair for the students of Himachal Pradesh. While informing about the event Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges said, “We have organized the scholarship cum counseling fair exclusively for HP Students who wants to pursue higher education in B.Tech, MBA, BBA, BCA, B.A., B.Ed, B.Com, Polytechnic, Nursing (GNM) and +1 under various scholarship schemes available at Aryans Campus. In an initiative to promote girls education in the region, we also organized a slogan writing and painting competition at the ridge in which local students highlighted the importance of girl education through their creative minds. Chief Minister, Himachal, Virbhadra Singh has already launched Aryans scholarship under “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” for the girls of HP on March 19”.
In the completion local schools including Monal Public School, Mount Shivalik, Arya Samaj School, Government Girls School Lakkar Bazaar, Government Boys School Sanjauli participated. In the painting competition Muskaan (Aryasmajh School); Mohit (Mount Shivalik Public School), Abhinav (Mount Shivalik) bagged first, second and third prize respectively.
In slogan writing – Pursharth (Monal), Divya (GSSS Sanjuli) and Deepa
li (GSSS Lakkar Bazzar) won first, second and third prize.
A street play was also staged to highlight the importance of women in society by students of Arya Samaj School that forced the people to contemplate on the predicament of women in our society. All participants were excited about the event and considered it to be a welcome change as they felt that the future is for them to protect and save girl child.
It is noteworthy that Punjab has become the education destination for students of other states too. Hundreds of students from Himachal are already studying at Aryans under various courses. Not only in academics but these students are actively participating in sports, cultural and innovation event.
The theme “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” will insist more girls to join engineering and diploma courses and the scholarship counseling will make students aware about various scholarship schemes provided by the Government and Aryans. A special counseling was done for the students in which they were given various career options after 10th and 12th.
