Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday announced ₹5.5 crore for a new building of Government Senior Secondary School, Chiyog, along with the introduction of CBSE curriculum from the next academic session.
Addressing a public gathering in Kasumpti constituency, he also announced ₹16 crore for a 66 KV substation to improve power supply, to be completed within a year. Funds will be provided for several FRA-approved roads and the Dharech irrigation project.
Highlighting education reforms, Sukhu said Himachal’s ranking has improved significantly, with expansion of CBSE schools and English-medium teaching from Class 1. He added that all such schools will soon have complete teaching staff.
The Chief Minister criticised the previous BJP government while asserting that his government remains focused on development. He also praised local MLA Anirudh Singh for contributing to the area’s progress.
Sukhu further highlighted welfare measures, including support for orphans and students from weaker sections, along with steps to modernise healthcare facilities. He also flagged reduced central funding and its impact on the state.
Earlier, he visited Jai Ishwari Mata Temple and announced ₹1 crore for its beautification, along with financial assistance for cultural activities and women’s groups.
