Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, is set to host the B. L. Modi Memorial Inter-School English Elocution Competition on 1st and 2nd August 2025, starting 9:00 AM onwards at the school campus. The event will be graced by Abid Hussain Sadiq (IAS) as the Chief Guest.
Now in its 27th year, this prestigious competition celebrates the legacy of B. L. Modi, a revered former teacher, Head of Mathematics Department, and Housemaster at Bishop Cotton School. Remembered for his discipline, passion for teaching, and student-centric approach, Modi’s contributions continue to inspire generations of Cottonians.
The event aims to promote excellence in English public speaking and create a platform for students across Shimla to engage, perform, and learn. Two prizes — Best Speaker and Most Promising Speaker — will be awarded in each division.
