Meaning: A family bond is closer than anything else. In modern society, the proverb “blood is thicker than water” is used to imply that family ties are always more important than the ties you make among friends. It generally means that the bonds of family and common ancestry are stronger than the bonds between unrelated people.

Once upon a time there lived two brothers Sohan and Mohan. Both of them were very hard working and always had great ideas that could always make their economic position strong. They had a joint business and both were doing great.

It was just a matter of time when their small cloth shop got converted into a big showroom and became popular not only among the local residents but even people from neighbouring villages started to become its loyal customers.

As time passed, both brothers got married and had their respective families. So far everything was going great when all of a sudden Sohan announced that he was not happy with the business profit he was making and wanted to part ways from Mohan.

Taken by surprise Mohan tried to convince him, but of no use. Soon after taking his share Sohan started his new shop with another merchant, Jeevan. Initially they made huge profit and things were going great. Sohan managed to buy a big house and now the time came when both deiced to expand by setting up their own manufacturing unit.

Jeevan suggested that Sohan should take loan from the bank for investment as he; himself had already reached his credit limit.  Without giving a second thought Sohan mortgaged his house and took a loan. He handed over all his money to Jeevan.

Time passed and Jeevan hardly showed any sign of progress in work and it was soon that Sohan realized that he had been coned.

He then received a notice from the bank for loan repayment and soon Sohan was left with nothing. His wife suggested him to take help from his brother but he refused. However, she on a personal level went to meet Mohan and narrated the whole story to him.

Mohan extended a helping hand and it was at this time that Sohan realized that BLOOD IS THICKER THAN WATER and repented his decision of overlooking his brother’s wise advice. He promised never to make the same mistake ever again and once again joined hands with his brother.
