Books are Basis of Knowledge and Creation: Governor

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar presided over Inderprastha Literary Festival organized in association with Karuna Foundation and Ministry of Culture in New Delhi today. On this occasion the Governor said that books are the foundation of knowledge and creation. “Through books we get to know about our cultural heritage and it is also a strong medium to teach future generations about our rich Art and literature” he said. The Governor while stressing the need to motivate students and others to read good books said that reading good books not only helps in gaining knowledge but also develops positive thinking and attitude among the readers. He said that Indian literature is the best example of scientific as well as creative writing skills.

He said that literature is an integral part of life and India has preserved and nurtured it for thousands of years. By promoting literature and other genres, we have tried to keep this knowledge tradition in front of the whole world. He said that along with a scientific outlook, creative potential is also displayed in Indian literature. He said that today, along with the publication of good books there is a need to create interest among readers to read good books. On the occasion, the Governor applauded the efforts of the Karuna Foundation for successfully organizing the festival. Members of the Karuna Foundation and other eminent persons were present on the occasion.
