Auckland House School, Shimla, proudly hosts the four-day Art Camp 2025 from May 19 to 22, in an inspiring collaboration with St. Thomas’ Girls Senior Secondary School, New Delhi. This dynamic initiative brings together 11 passionate student artists from St. Thomas’, guided by their faculty, and 12 members of Auckland House School’s Art Club for a shared exploration of creativity and expression.

Throughout the camp, students are working collaboratively to transform school walls and corridors into vivid visual narratives. From expressive graffiti and abstract murals to thought-provoking conceptual art, the young artists are turning everyday spaces into vibrant canvases that reflect imagination, unity, and a spirit of innovation.

Principal Smaraki Samantaroy of Auckland House School emphasized the broader impact of such programs, stating, “Collaborations like these go far beyond artistic skill—they nurture inter-school friendships, encourage shared learning, and build cultural bridges. It’s about expanding perspectives and celebrating diversity through creative expression.”

St. Thomas’ Girls Senior Secondary School—an esteemed institution established in 1930 under the Diocese of Delhi, Church of North India—brings a wealth of experience in public art projects. The visiting team is led by faculty members Meghna Ahuja, Shivali Nayyar, Meeta Singh, and Meeta Michael, whose expertise has deeply enriched the camp experience. The school is headed by Dr. Anuradha Amos, a visionary leader in both education and the arts.

To complement the artistic exchange, the visiting students explored Shimla’s rich heritage through guided walks, offering them a firsthand glimpse into the town’s cultural legacy and colonial charm. A lively bonfire night added a joyful, communal touch, with music, laughter, and shared memories under the stars.

Art Camp 2025 has become more than a creative workshop—it is a celebration of collaboration, friendship, and youthful spirit, leaving behind not just murals on walls, but lasting bonds between two distinguished schools.
