Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 57th Convocation Ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi today, encouraging graduating students to turn global challenges into opportunities through innovation, research, and cutting-edge technology.
In his convocation address, the Prime Minister highlighted emerging domains—including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, deep-sea exploration, critical minerals, and data infrastructure—as vital pillars for India’s future development. He called upon the graduating cohort to actively contribute to nation-building and lead India into new technological frontiers.
Union Minister for Education, Pralhad Joshi, emphasized that India’s education ecosystem has transformed into a learner-centric, research-driven, and future-ready model under the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He noted that Indian youth are no longer merely competing globally, but are actively setting global benchmarks.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Modi presented premier academic honors, including the President’s Gold Medal, Director’s Gold Medal, Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal, and Perfect Ten Medals. He also inaugurated “Param Pragya,” an AI-powered high-performance supercomputing cluster at IIT Delhi aimed at boosting advanced research infrastructure.
