Balanced and equitable development of all areas of the State with special focus on those which remained neglected so far was the main focus of the State Government. This was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a massive public meeting at Bharli in Paonta Sahib Vidhan Sabha area of Sirmour district after inaugurating and laying foundation stones of developmental projects worth over Rs. 214 crore for the constituency. The Chief Minister said that despite the Corona pandemic the present State Government succeeded in ensuring that the pace of development goes uninterrupted. He said that the credit of this goes to the benevolence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union leadership.
He said that the Union Government has provided Rs. 800 crore to the State to ensure that the paucity of funds do not come in the way of development. He said that it was possible for the State to take up various developmental projects as per the aspiration of the people of the area. Jai Ram Thakur said that the State government started several schemes for ensuring empowerment of the women. He said that over 3.25 lakh gas connections were provided free of cost in the State. He said that now three free LPG gas cylinders would also be provided to them. He said that under Sagun Yojna Rs. 31000 were being provided to daughters of BPL families at the time of their marriage. He said that the Congress leaders did not even think of providing some relief and benefit to the weaker sections of the society.
He said that the Congress did nothing during the testing time of the pandemic other than misleading and mis-guiding the people of the State. He said that the State Government has decided that “Zero Billing” would be done for consumption of power up to 60 units benefitting about 5 lakh consumers. The electricity rate would be 30 paise per unit for farmers, he added. The Chief Minister said that the BJP under the able and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would surely again form Government in the State. He also urged the people of the State to give their whole hearted support to the State Government so that the pace of development goes at a steady pace.
The Chief Minister announced the starting of science labs in Government Senior Secondary School, Bhagni and Jamniwala. He announced the opening of Atal Adarsh Vidyalaya at village Bharli. He announced upgradation of 50 bedded capacity to CHC Rajpur and announced providing 10 bedded capacity in CHC Gorkhuwala. He announced the opening of one PHC at Gram Panchayat Ajoli. He announced the opening of Ayurvedic Dispensary at Kishanpura. He announced the opening of new Sub Tehsils at Rajpura and Khandanwala. He announced the opening of a new education block at Kandowala and opening of Primary schools at Chhallulwala, Kishan Kot and Gondpur.
The Chief Minister announced the upgradation of Govt. Primary schools to Middle school at Bobri, Chiloi, Bhuppur and Rajpur. He announced upgradation of Middle school to High school Kandela, Dangran, Behadwala, Bhatanawali and upgradation of High school to ten plus two schools Kotribias, Kishanpura, Kodri Majra. He announced that six schools of the area would be named after martyrs of the respective areas. He announced renaming of Government Degree College, Bharli as Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Degree College. He announced starting PG classes of History, Geography, Chemistry and Mathemetics in Government Degree College Paonta Sahib.
Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated Rs. 4.40 crore administrative block of Government Degree College Paonta Sahib, Rs. 3.65 crore Fire Station Building, Rs. 1.25 crore bridges at Khorowala and Mehruwala on Dakpatthar Road, Rs. 8.08 crore building of Government Degree College Bharli, Rs. 65 lakh crore Bridge on Dakpathar Dholli khad, Rs. 63 lakh augmentation of drinking water supply scheme for Killor in Gram Panchayat Badhana, Rs. 2.14 crore Lift Drinking Water Supply Scheme for adjoining villages of Shiva, Shamilaya, Bannor and Paonta Sahib, Rs. 90 lakh Eco Park Van Vihar Rampurghat, Rs. 10.50 crore 33/11 KV Electric Sub Station at Jagatpur Jahoro, and Rs. 3.73 crore Working Women Hostel at Rampurghat.
The Chief Minister also laid foundation stones of Rs. 11.47 crore Art and Commerce Block in Government Degree College Poanta Sahib, Rs. 4.95 crore bridge over Bhorad Khad, Rs. 1.45 crore expansion of Drinking Water Supply Scheme Khara in Gram Panchayat Jamnibawara, Rs. 73 lakh Lift and Gravity Water Supply Schemes for various villages of Amboya, Badhana, Banour, Dhanda, Dhandaanj, Nagata, Shivas, Sanog, Rajpur panchayats, Rs. 2.61 crore Lift Water Supply Scheme for Beharawala, Nihalgarh, Harpur, Tohana, Akalgarh, Rampurghat and Devinagar villages, Rs. 27.31 crore augmentation of Water Supply Scheme for panchayats of Trans Giri area, Rs. 13.23 crore augmentation of Water supply scheme for Bhellatoru and Gravity Water supply scheme for Bhagani-Mehruwala and Lift Water Supply Scheme for Gojar Adia.
Rs. 30 lakh Ghrit Bahati Chang Maha Sabha Gyan Bhawan at Gondpur, Rs. 2.10 crore Panchayat Bhawans for Guruwala, Singhpur, Negata, Bharli Agron, Bhunrni, Puruwala, Kashipur, Majri Pahruwala, Khodri Majri panchayats, Rs. 1 crore development of Yamuna Van Vihar Park, Sirmour Van Vihar Sirmouri Taal and Col. Sherjung Simbal Bara National Park, Rs. 103 crore 220/132 KV Electric Sub Station at Gondpur, Rs. 10.14 crore 33/11 KV Electric Sub Station at Gondpur, Rs. 16 lakh Veterinary Dispensary Building at Kotdi Beas, Rs. 30 lakh buildings of Government High School Sanog and Government Primary School Patti Natha Singh and Rs. 1.72 crore Parking at Ramlila Ground. Later the Chief Minister also visited Tibetian Monastery at Puruwala.
MP and State BJP President Suresh Kashyap urged the Chief Minister to sympathetically consider various developmental demands of the area presented by the Power Minister Sukh Ram Chaudhary. He said that the BJP would surely ensure mission repeat in the State as it has done in four states of the country where the elections were held recently. He said that the Chief Minister has provided relief to almost every section of the society in the budget presented for the current financial year. He also urged the Chief Minister to effectively take up the matter of Tribal status to Trans Giri area of the district as this would benefit over 3 lakh people of 144 panchayats of the area.
Power Minister and local MLA Sukh Ram Chaudhary while welcoming the Chief Minister to his constituency said that Poanta Vidhan Sabha remained completely neglected during the tenure of the previous Congress Government. He said that over 70 roads have been constructed during the last four years in the constituency. He said that there was no dearth of funds for development in the area and the sole aim of the Government was to ensure all-round development of the area. He said that Congress leaders only know to mislead the people by making tall claims and politicizing baseless issues. He also detailed various developmental demands of the area.
Former Speaker HP Vidhan Sabha and MLA Nahan Dr. Rajiv Bindal said that the present State Government under the able leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was committed towards the development of the State in general and Sirmour district in particular. He said that the BJP would once again form Government in the State under the leadership of Jai Ram Thakur. MLA Pachhad Reena Kashyap, Vice Chairman State Civil Supplies Corporation Baldev Tomar, Chairman State Agriculture Marketing Board Baldev Bhandari, Zila Parishad Chairman Seema, District BJP President Vinay Gupta, Deputy Commissioner and SP Sirmour were present on the occasion among others.
