CM Sukhu chaired a review meeting here today with senior officers to assess the progress of budget announcements for the financial year 2025-26. He directed officials to ensure their timely implementation on the ground so that the public could gain maximum benefits.
The Chief Minister said the state government was giving special emphasis to education, health, food processing, green energy, tourism, data storage, and the rural economy. He assured that there was no shortage of funds or resources for development projects and directed departments to accelerate the completion of pending works.
Highlighting the government’s focus on strengthening the rural economy, Sukhu said efforts were underway to increase the income of farmers and horticulturists through enhanced cold storage and processing infrastructure. The government was also promoting natural farming and ensuring certification and marketing support for natural products. He added that products made by self-help groups were being promoted under the ‘HIM-IRA’ brand to boost their earnings.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s resolve to bring qualitative improvement in education, with at least one Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding School being set up in every Assembly constituency. In the first phase, 100 government schools are being affiliated with the CBSE board.
To strengthen the health sector, he said that medical institutions were being equipped with modern technology and advanced equipment to provide specialized health care within the State.
Sukhu also directed all departments to complete digitization of their work by December 2025 and ensure faster public service delivery through modern technology. He added that drone stations were being set up in Hamirpur, Mandi and Kangra, and instructed departments to complete the work expeditiously.
