CM Commends SC Commission for Community Upliftment

Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Scheduled Castes Commission and former Minister, Kuldeep Kumar Dhiman, along with Commission members Advocate Vijay Dogra and Advocate Digvijay Malhotra, met CM Sukhu at his official residence, Oak Over, Shimla, on Sunday.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the activities of the Commission and various issues concerning the Scheduled Castes community. The Chief Minister lauded the Commission’s efforts in safeguarding the rights and interests of the Scheduled Castes population in the state.

Highlighting that nearly 26 percent of Himachal Pradesh’s population belongs to Scheduled Castes, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of implementing social and economic welfare schemes effectively. He assured that the state government remains committed to the upliftment of underprivileged communities and recognized the pivotal role played by the Commission in protecting constitutional rights.

Commission Chairman Kuldeep Kumar Dhiman informed the Chief Minister that, following his directions, 10 kanal of land in Rampur, Una district has been formally allotted to the Commission for constructing an office building. The proposed building will house an office, library, museum, and photo gallery. He also requested budget provisions in the upcoming financial year to begin construction.

Mr. Dhiman extended his congratulations to the Chief Minister on International Women’s Day, appreciating the government’s initiatives for women’s empowerment. He also congratulated him on the unopposed election of Congress candidate Anurag Sharma to the Rajya Sabha.
