Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a massive public meeting at Chamba Chowgan in Chamba Vidhan Sabha Area of Chamba district after inaugurating and laying foundation stones of developmental projects worth about Rs. 196 crore for the constituency announced opening of Sub Tehsil and Jal Shakti Division at Saho, upgradation of Government Primary Schools (GPS) at Guward, Dhanoti, Tadoli and Bhujja, upgradation of GPS Saar, Parel and Chhaterdi to Middle schools, upgdadation of Govt. High schools Kaded, Raan and Oda to Senior Secondary Schools, opening of veterinary dispensary at Dhabrain, opening of health sub centres at Palhuin, Kaila and Kakian, starting of science classes at Govt. Senior Secondary Schools Mangla and Jadera. He said that Rs. 25 crore ropeway would be constructed from new bus stand to Chowgan and the same has been sent for approval to the Centre. He said that efforts would be made to include Chamba under UDAAN so that flights could be started from Chamba to Shimla and Chandigarh.
Chief Minister said that history has been created as he has today dedicated 22 developmental projects worth Rs. 73 crore, besides laying foundation stone of developmental projects worth Rs. 123 crore. He said that Chamba district has been selected as aspirational district by the Union Government to ensure that special funds were available directly from the Centre to accelerate the pace of development. He said that the State Government was also laying special focus on development of Chamba district. He said that despite heavy snowfall this season, the State Government ensured uninterrupted power supply in the district. He said that the Centre Government has provided special assistance of Rs. 800 crore for the State and this was possible due to the double engine governments at the Centre and the State. Jai Ram Thakur said that the Centre Government has provided Rs. 2100 crore project for tourism development in the State. He said that several projects have been sanctioned for the State under Jal Shakti, Horticulture and Power etc. He said that the State has also made remarkable progress in all spheres of development during the last over four years.
He said that the State also emerged as first State in administering first and second doses of vaccine. He said that free vaccine was provided to 137 crore people of the country by launching the biggest vaccination campaign of the world. Chief Minister said that the present State Government has completed about four years and four months in office in the State, but there was not even a single case of corruption against the Government. He said that this was possible because a sole motto of the State Government which was to ensure alround and balanced development of the State. He said that the State Government would ensure mission repeat in the State with the cooperation and support of the people of the State. He said that the Congress was almost non-existence in the country as well as the State. He said that the Congress leaders in the State were busy in proving their supremacy over one another. He said that on the other hand BJP was the biggest political party of the world with government in 18 states of the country. Jai Ram Thakur said that only Rs. 400 crore was spent on providing social security pension to the eligible categories, whereas today the State Government was spending over Rs. 1300 crore.

Chief Minister laid foundation stone of 13 developmental projects worth Rs. 123 crore which includes, Rs.7.21 crore improvement and widening of Kohlari to Talai road, Rs. 3.16 crore construction of Ghoom to Jajnla road, Rs. 2.21 crore improvement and widening of road from Zonal Hospital to Baloo via Pucca Tala, Rs. 2.18 crore baily bridge over Sal Nallah at Baloo, Rs. 2.16 crore improvement of link road Rajera to Dhullara, Rs. 4.80 crore 40 meter double lane bridge over Sarotha Nallah on Chamba Sahoo road, Rs. 2.86 crore PG Block in Government College Chamba, Rs. 13.71 crore LWSS Kaila, Jadera, Palhuin and Sillagharat, Rs. 5.77 crore improvement and distribution of NABARD System of various Water Supply Schemes in gram panchayats Luddu, Uteep, Baat and Belly, Rs. 72.50 crore LWSS from Ravi river/Sal river to all drought affected schemes of gram panchayats Jatkari, Kolka, Kupada, Bhadian, Bakatpur, Basodan, Ratiar, Oda, Khajjiar and Draman etc. He also laid foundation stone of Rs. 4.74 crore Police Station Building Chamba, Rs 98 lakh Type-IV Government Quarters and Rs. 94 lakh Type-II Government Residences of Police Lines Chamba. Chief Minister was accorded rousing welcome on his arrival at Chamba. Chief Minister also paid floral tributes to Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary by garlanding his portrait.
He also released Himachali Theme Song on the occasion. Chief Minister also interacted with 105 years old Dass of Sanwar village who had travelled all the way from his village to Chamba to thank the Chief Minister for providing social security pension to the senior citizens of the State. Chief Minister also presented a sapling to a mother under ‘Ek Boota Beti Ke Naam’ on the occasion. Chief Minister honoured Padam Shri Lalita Vakeel, Black Belt Karate winner Neelam Kumari, Kabaddi player Champa Thakur, Doctor Needhkia on the occasion by presenting them Shawl and Himachali Cap. Later, a delegation of outsource employees association called on the Chief Minister. Chief Minister assured that their issue would be considered sympathetically. Member of Parliament Kishan Kapoor said that the double engine Governments at the Centre and State has ensured balanced development of the country and State. He said that dedication of developmental projects worth crores of rupees was possible due to the double engine Governments. He said that Rs. 60,000 crore has been earmarked by the Union Government for providing drinking water to the people of the country. Local MLA Pawan Nayar while welcoming the Chief Minister said that despite the corona pandemic.
The Chief Minister had always ensured development of district Chamba. He also thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating and laid foundation stone of crores of rupees for Chamba Vidhan Sabha area. He said that the present tenure of the State Government has proved blessing for Chamba constituency as the pace of development has been accelerated during the last over four years. He said that work on about 94 public works schemes were going on in the constituency by spending crores of Rupees. Mandal BJP President Vinod Kumar also welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. Chief Whip Vikram Singh Jaryal, MLA Bharmour Jiya Lal Kapoor, President District BJP and Chairman APMC D.S.
