Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday inspected the Tourist Information Centre situated on Mall Road, Shimla, and interacted with officials to review the services being provided. He issued directions to ensure smooth and efficient assistance for visitors.
Highlighting the importance of tourism, the Chief Minister said that tourists coming to Dev Bhoomi Himachal Pradesh must be provided a hassle-free experience. He stressed that tourism plays a vital role in strengthening the state’s economy and added that focused efforts are being made to further boost the sector.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government has set an ambitious target of attracting five crore tourists annually. To achieve this, multiple initiatives are underway, including infrastructure development and innovative, multi-dimensional strategies.
During his visit, he also interacted with tourists at the Ridge and Mall Road. Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister informed that appropriate action has been taken following a thorough inquiry into the recent incident at IGMC Shimla. He said the government has introduced several measures in the interest of doctors, particularly senior resident doctors, and has issued directions to improve facilities at IGMC Shimla.
