As part of the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ initiative, CM Sukhu visited Sharchi village in the Banjar constituency of Kullu district, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to connecting with people in remote areas. The Chief Minister was warmly received with traditional hospitality by enthusiastic villagers and chose to stay overnight at the residence of retired Subedar Anoop Ram, marking a first for the region.

The visit was marked by direct interaction with villagers, including women, children, and elders, during which they shared their daily challenges. Responding promptly, Sukhu issued on-the-spot instructions to officials for resolving public grievances.

In a major infrastructural directive, CM ordered the widening and upgradation of the Nagladi–Sharchi road, along with proper drainage systems and paver blocks to ensure durability. He also announced a grant of ₹1 lakh each to five Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in the area to boost women’s economic empowerment.

Conversing in the local dialect, the CM assured villagers of budgetary support for their demands and emphasized the government’s proactive efforts to reach every corner of the state. Over breakfast with locals, he also explained state initiatives such as revenue Lok Adalats being held at tehsil and sub-tehsil levels to expedite long-pending revenue cases.

“This government is committed to understanding and solving people’s issues on the ground. Visiting remote regions like Sharchi, Dodra Kwar, Kupvi, and Pangi allows us to act on the needs of our people,” said CM Sukhu.

The villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude. Subedar Anoop Ram, hosting the CM, called it a historic moment for the village, and his son Naresh shared the pride felt by the entire community. Panchayat Pradhans Ishwari Devi and Rameshwari Thakur praised the government’s efforts, especially for empowering rural women.

Before commencing the village engagements, the CM offered prayers at the Gada Durga temple, invoking blessings for the state’s prosperity.

The visit was attended by MLA Sunder Singh Thakur, Chairman APMC Bhuvneshwar Gaur, Chairman Milkfed Buddhi Singh Thakur, former Minister Khimi Ram Sharma, Vice-Chairman HPSIDC Vishal Chambiyal, and other senior officials and local leaders, showcasing unified government outreach to rural Himachal.
