The Chief Minister introduced “Him Bhog Atta,” made from maize cultivated using natural farming techniques. This initiative has supported 1,506 farmers across ten districts with Rs. 1.20 crore transferred directly to their accounts. Himachal Pradesh offers the highest support price in India for wheat (Rs. 40/kg) and maize (Rs. 30/kg), involving 1.98 lakh farmers. Additionally, the Rajiv Gandhi Natural Farming Start-up Scheme will integrate 36,000 more farmers this year under its Rs. 680 crore budget.
Boosting Farmer Income with Organic Compost Purchase Scheme
To uplift small farmers, the government will purchase organic compost and vermicompost at Rs. 300 per quintal. During the launch, Rs. 1 lakh was distributed to 100 farmers via DBT, strengthening the rural economy while fulfilling a Congress manifesto promise.
Empowering E-Taxi Owners under Self-Employment Scheme
Keys were handed over to 16 electric taxi owners under the Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme 2023. Beneficiaries received a 50% subsidy, with the e-taxis leased to government offices, ensuring a stable income. In its first phase, 150 e-taxi permits are planned.
Supporting Vulnerable Families with Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojana
Financial aid worth Rs. 1.38 crore was distributed to 5,145 beneficiaries. This scheme focuses on the education and welfare of children and vulnerable families, providing Rs. 1,000 per month for children under 18 and support for higher education. With an annual budget of Rs. 53.21 crore, the initiative aims to prevent child exploitation and aid widows, destitute women, and disabled parents.
Expanding Horticulture with HP Shiva Project
The Rs. 1,292 crore HP Shiva project targets 6,000 hectares in seven districts, cultivating fruits like oranges, guavas, litchis, and plums. Benefiting 15,000 farming families, the project aims for an annual yield of 1.3 lakh metric tonnes by 2032, valued at Rs. 400 crore.
Improving Healthcare in Remote Regions
Five mobile Ayush healthcare units were flagged off to serve tribal areas, including Kinnaur, Lahaul & Spiti, and Chamba. Equipped for Ayurveda, Unani, and Homeopathy treatments, these units aim to enhance healthcare access.
Financial Support under Mukhyamantri Sukh-Ashray Yojana
Under MMSAY, Rs. 1.90 crore was provided to 197 beneficiaries in Bilaspur, covering pensions, housing, marriage aid, education, and vocational training.
