Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, while chairing a meeting of Administrative Secretaries, directed departments to clear pending financial liabilities, including medical reimbursement claims and arrears of Class-IV pensioners, within four days and submit a compliance report to his office.
He instructed that arrears of Class-IV pensioners across all departments, as announced on April 15, must be released without delay. The Chief Minister also asked for immediate clearance of medical reimbursement claims of both serving and retired government employees, and fixed accountability of Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) in case of negligence.
The Chief Minister approved the release of ₹20 crore under the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) to clear pending payments of small apple growers, ensuring timely financial relief to farmers. He also reviewed ongoing welfare schemes and directed officials to ensure that benefits reach all eligible beneficiaries.
Reiterating the government’s crackdown on drug trafficking, CM Sukhu said 31 government employees have already been dismissed for their involvement in narcotics-related activities. He added that a total of 122 officials have been found linked to “chitta” cases and instructed all Administrative Secretaries to take strict action against those involved.
