Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today addressed public grievances in Manjheli and Karsai in the Nadaun Assembly constituency. He announced several development initiatives including the opening of a patwar circle, a health sub-centre at Manjheli, and financial grants for local Mahila Mandals. Each Mahila Mandal will receive Rs. 1 lakh and 100 chairs, while Rs. 10 lakh has been allocated for the construction of each Mahila Mandal Bhawan. Additionally, Rs. 50 lakh has already been sanctioned for road strengthening in Manjheli Panchayat. The Chief Minister directed the Public Works Department to prepare the DPR for the Manjheli–Bhunpal road at the earliest and announced the conversion of Kangu School into a CBSE-affiliated institution.

Highlighting the state government’s achievements in education and healthcare, CM Sukhu said Himachal Pradesh has risen from 21st to 5th position in the national education index. He added that many hospitals still operate with outdated equipment and announced the installation of modern machinery, comparable to AIIMS Delhi, to enhance healthcare services.

Addressing the Hamirpur Medical College, the Chief Minister clarified that the institution was sanctioned by former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and not by BJP MP Anurag Thakur. “During the previous BJP government, only the foundation stone was laid. The current government has allocated an additional Rs. 400 crore to complete construction,” he said. He also criticized former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, stating that he neglected Hamirpur, and no local MLAs were included in the Cabinet during his tenure.

Focusing on sports and tourism, CM Sukhu announced the construction of the state’s first indoor stadium in Nadaun at a cost of Rs. 120 crore, which will include a swimming pool, shooting range, and facilities for 17 sports. Plans for football and hockey stadiums, a Rs. 59-crore rafting complex, and a Rs. 79-crore wellness centre and water park are also underway to promote tourism and boost the local economy.

Recalling his childhood in Manjheli, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the people of Nadaun for their support over the past 23 years. Students of Government Senior Secondary School Choru contributed Rs. 57,000 from their personal savings to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. CM Sukhu also laid the foundation stone for a Rs. 2.04 crore Primary Health Centre in Karsai, which will initially operate from a rented building, with staff appointments to follow.

In his address, CM Sukhu emphasized the government’s efforts to strengthen the rural economy by supporting milk production and providing Minimum Support Prices for raw turmeric, wheat, maize, and barley. Wages under MGNREGA have also been increased by Rs. 80. He highlighted the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme for government employees, despite financial restrictions imposed by the central government.

MLA Captain Ranjit Singh praised the Chief Minister for promoting equitable development across the state, contrasting it with the previous BJP government, which he claimed ignored Hamirpur. He also reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption and mentioned plans to raise the issue of Agniveer recruitment in the upcoming Assembly session, proposing 15 years of service with pension benefits.
