Lok Bhavan Celebrates Cultural Unity of Three States

The Statehood Day of Rajasthan, Odisha, and Bihar was celebrated with enthusiasm at Lok Bhavan, Shimla, under the auspices of the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” initiative. Governor Kavinder Gupta, who presided over the event, highlighted the importance of fostering cultural unity and emotional bonding among the states of India.

During the program, the Governor honored distinguished guests with traditional Himachali caps and shawls, symbolizing friendship, unity, and mutual respect. The celebrations featured lively cultural performances representing the rich heritage of Rajasthan, Odisha, and Bihar. Government employees from these states also shared their personal experiences of living and working in Himachal Pradesh, reflecting warmth, camaraderie, and a sense of belonging.

In his address, Governor Gupta emphasized that India’s strength is rooted in its unity in diversity. He noted that initiatives like “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” help strengthen the nation’s cultural fabric by fostering understanding, respect, and appreciation among people from different states.

The Governor further highlighted the historical significance, rich traditions, and cultural vibrancy of Bihar, Rajasthan, and Odisha. He observed that recognizing and learning about each other’s languages, traditions, and cultures strengthens national integration. He also appreciated the contributions of people from these states to Himachal Pradesh’s development, adding that cultural exchanges promote harmony, mutual respect, and a spirit of brotherhood.

As part of the celebrations, Governor Gupta announced that Lok Bhavan will now be open to the public two days a week, allowing citizens to engage with the institution and feel a closer connection to its workings. He emphasized that Lok Bhavan should not remain limited to official use but reflect the aspirations and participation of the people it serves.
