CM Sukhu today held an interactive session with Van Mitras from across Himachal Pradesh during a special ‘Samvaad’ programme organized in Hamirpur. The engagement provided an opportunity for the newly inducted forest assistants to share their training experiences and aspirations directly with the CM.

During the session, CM Sukhu emphasized the critical role of Van Mitras in forest protection and urged them to remain alert, especially during the fire-prone summer months. “If forest fires break out in your beat area, be careful and stay alert,” he cautioned.

Vanshika, posted in Dharamshala, shared that her training included plantation activities and wildlife awareness. She underwent her training at Nagrota Surian in Kangra district.

Muskan Chauhan from Shimla mentioned that her field experience taught her more than books could. She highlighted her training in plantation, nursery management, and forest conservation.

Divyanshu Singh from Parwanoo said he had limited knowledge about forests before joining but now recognizes their ecological value and pledged to work with full commitment toward afforestation and forest protection.

Akanksha Thakur from Kullu expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for launching the recruitment initiative, which resulted in over 2,000 appointments in the Forest Department — a first for the state. Having joined recently, she promised to follow all government guidelines with sincerity.

Sukhu commended the dedication shown by the Van Mitras and reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening environmental protection efforts through grassroots participation.
