CM Sukhu has instructed all administrative secretaries to prioritize and expedite pending development projects to ensure their timely benefits reach the people of Himachal Pradesh.

Presiding over a high-level meeting with administrative secretaries, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for setting clear departmental targets and taking prompt action to resolve bottlenecks. He said that from day one, the present government has focused on good governance and public welfare and reaffirmed that the Chief Secretary would regularly monitor progress on all key projects.

Stating that the welfare of the people is the government’s top priority, the Chief Minister called for dedicated implementation of all plans and schemes at the grassroots level. He stressed the vision of building a self-reliant Himachal Pradesh.

CM Sukhu specifically directed officials to accelerate the expansion of Kangra Airport and fast-track other tourism-related infrastructure projects. He said the government is giving focused attention to sectors like healthcare, education, rural economy, tourism, energy, food processing, and data storage, while encouraging investment in these areas.

The Chief Minister highlighted ongoing reforms in the health sector, aimed at providing quality treatment closer to people’s homes. All seven medical colleges in the state are being upgraded with modern equipment and advanced machinery, similar to the standards of AIIMS Delhi.

He reiterated the government’s push for electric vehicles and the need to build supporting infrastructure. He also directed departments to digitize their operations and expedite approvals in FRA and FCA cases.

With nearly 90% of the state’s population residing in rural areas, the Chief Minister said that strengthening the rural economy is key. He cited the government’s historic steps such as hiking milk procurement prices and setting (MSP) for naturally grown crops like wheat, maize, barley, and turmeric. He urged the agriculture department to promote natural farming as a sustainable source of farmer income.

Referring to heavy losses due to this year’s monsoon, CM Sukhu assured that the state government is doing its best with available resources to provide relief to all affected families. He instructed the Revenue Department to prepare a comprehensive report on the disaster damages so it can be submitted to the Central Government without delay.
