Cricket for a Cause: CM Bats Against Drugs

Chief Minister Sukhu inaugurated a cricket match in Dehra, Kangra district, as part of a unique awareness campaign against drug abuse. The event, organized under the “Kanoon Vidyalaya” initiative by the Dehra District Police, aimed to engage youth through sports while highlighting the dangers of drug addiction. Adding a personal touch, the Chief Minister also showcased his batting skills during the event.

In his address, CM stressed the importance of sports in instilling discipline and promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people. He noted that sporting events like this serve as powerful platforms to spread awareness about the perils of drug abuse and inspire youth to adopt a drug-free life.

Superintendent of Police, Dehra, Mayank Chaudhary, affirmed that the police will continue similar initiatives to raise awareness. He highlighted the department’s outreach efforts with gram panchayats, students, and taxi drivers, focusing on key issues like drug abuse, cybercrime, law and order, and road safety. These efforts, he said, are being implemented under the guidance and direction of the Chief Minister.
