When you have confidence, you can have a lot of fun. And when you have fun, you can do amazing things, the brave little students of ABHI (Action for Barrier Free Handicapped) special school along with students of UDAAN and Arushi School of Hope proved the saying right as they had an amazing fun filled day today in the City.

ABHI, UDAAN, ARUSHICelebrating their Founder’ Day, ABHI was registered in 2004 on this day, and since February 2005 the management has been helping children with special needs and autism by offering door to door service. It was in 2007 that a Day Care Centre was opened in New Shimla, through which children were able to get physio treatment and a permanent home-type care place. The children are dropped by parents in the Centre and in few cases an ambulance is used to bring kids, who stay here from morning ten to three in the evening.

A total of 50 kids, from all the three NGOs, enjoyed a wonderful morning as part of the merriment included a film screening  of ‘Bhaiaji Superhit’ at the Ritz Cineplex, Shimla, which was enjoyed by all the students as they were seen giggling and having a gala time. After the screening, the kids loved the horse rides on the Ridge. Their laughter mingled with fear of the ride was quiet visible as they hopped on the horses. However, their joy was far bigger than their fear as they were seen taking pleasure and loving the feel of the kind touch towards these animals.

After having so much fun under the sun, children were taken out for lunch to Ashiana Restaurant, Ridge, where they were served mouthwatering food which tickled their taste buds.

As a token of goodwill, KEEKLI Charitable Trust gave children a small packet of stationary. The day ended on a happy note as children were seen smiling and happy to be out.

People present on the occasion included President ABHI – Meenu Sud, teacher in-charge Sunita; in-charge Krishna and Sedu Rukmani from UDAAN; Tina Bragta and Sheela from Arushi School of Hope; members from Inner Wheel Club Mid-Town; and trustees from KEEKLI Charitable Trust.
