State authorities have cracked down on a Sirmaur-based pharmaceutical manufacturer following repeated regulatory lapses. Health Secretary Ashish Singhmar announced that the Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Himachal Pradesh, took strict measures against M/s Welcure Remedies, located in Kala Amb, after joint inspections by Central and State officials revealed ongoing operational deficiencies.
Despite the company requesting time to address the compliance failures, regulators ordered an immediate halt to all manufacturing activities to protect patient safety. Production will remain suspended until the unit fully rectifies the issues and passes a joint re-inspection. Reaffirming the state’s zero-tolerance policy regarding the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, the Health Secretary emphasized that stringent enforcement will continue to guarantee the safety, efficacy, and high standard of medicines supplied to the public.
