Dhar Kandi to be developed as Trout Hub: Kewal Pathania

Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania today chaired a review meeting with the officials of the Fisheries Department at Shimla. He reviewed the ongoing work of the Trout Clusters in the Shahpur Assembly constituency. He inquired about the progress of Trout units, Fish Kiosks, Ice Plant, and Cold Storage being developed there.  

To propel trout production to a new height, he said that 26 Trout units have been constructed in Boh, Shahpur, and 15 more Trout units were proposed to be constructed this fiscal and around 50% of the work on the under-construction retail outlet in Boh has also been completed. He said that the construction of the Trout Hatchery has been completed and seed production would start soon.

Pathania said that Dhar Kandi would be developed as a Trout Hub, which would strengthen the economy of the people here and provide them with self-employment opportunities. He also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for implementing the budget announcement, he made for his constituency.

Director Fisheries, Vivek Chandel, Assistant Director, Dr. Som Nath, and Jay Singh were also present in the meeting.
