The state government’s digital governance initiative has reached an unprecedented milestone, delivering 22.78 lakh services to citizens in 2024 through the e-District Portal. This remarkable achievement underscores the government’s commitment to making public services more accessible, efficient, and citizen-friendly.
Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the digital transformation of government services has gained significant momentum. Since 2022, when 113 services were available online, the number of digital services has expanded nearly fourfold to 436 in 2025. This steady increase reflects the administration’s dedication to simplifying citizen interactions with government departments.
The portal’s usage has also surged, with 14.97 lakh services delivered in 2023 and over 15 lakh services already recorded in 2025. The continuous growth in digital service adoption highlights the increasing trust and convenience experienced by the public.
Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister, Gokul Butail, emphasized that digital services have revolutionized access by allowing citizens to apply for government benefits anytime and anywhere. Services are also available through Lok Mitra Kendras across the state, ensuring that even those without direct internet access can benefit from digital governance.
Chief Minister Sukhu highlighted key initiatives aimed at making government processes paperless, presence-less, and cashless. One such pilot project in the Revenue Department enables property registration without requiring citizens to visit government offices. Positive public feedback has encouraged plans to replicate this model across other departments, further enhancing ease of access.
As digital governance continues to evolve, the state government remains committed to expanding online services and ensuring that every citizen benefits from efficient, transparent, and inclusive public service delivery. This milestone sets a strong foundation for Himachal Pradesh to emerge as a leader in digital governance.
