To make life easier for patients and their attendants traveling to AIIMS Bilaspur, the Himachal Pradesh government has expanded direct bus routes across the state. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri announced that the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) is currently running 10 electric bus services directly connecting several key regions to the medical facility, benefiting roughly 1,000 commuters daily.
The direct connections eliminate the hassle of switching buses mid-journey, allowing patients to arrive punctually and comfortably for their medical appointments. Active routes currently connect AIIMS Bilaspur to Solan, Mandi, Jahu, Chintpurni, Una, and Haroli, along with local towns like Shah Talai, Bandla, Karloti, Ghumarwin, and Bilaspur city. To manage high demand, HRTC operates eight daily trips from Bilaspur and four from Ghumarwin.
Looking ahead, the government plans to further broaden this network. New routes scheduled to launch soon include electric bus connections from Nalagarh (via Ramshehar) and Baddi (via Bagheri), alongside a new service serving the Nachan Assembly segment. Officials noted that additional routes will be introduced continuously based on public demand to ensure accessible, affordable, and seamless transit to healthcare services.
