At a public rally in Balh, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu slammed the previous BJP government for pushing Himachal Pradesh into a severe debt trap and mismanaging over ₹60,000 crore in central funds. He highlighted his administration’s financial discipline, noting that restoring the Old Pension Scheme led to the Centre withholding ₹1,600 crore in aid. Despite these challenges, the state rebuilt 23,000 disaster-damaged homes from its own funds and saved ₹3,000 crore while securing future annual revenues up to ₹1,500 crore from the Kishau Multipurpose Project.
To expand social welfare, CM Sukhu announced key relaxations under the Mukhya Mantri Ka Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar Yojana, removing the mandatory one-day MGNREGA work requirement and raising the family income eligibility cap from ₹50,000 to ₹75,000 for women receiving the ₹1,500 monthly pension. He also highlighted dairy support, with milk procurement prices hiked to ₹61/litre for cow milk and ₹71/litre for buffalo milk. Furthermore, he assured state employees that a pending Dearness Allowance (DA) installment would be released ahead of Diwali.
Addressing regional disparities, the Chief Minister accused former CM Jai Ram Thakur of neglecting Mandi district outside his home constituency of Seraj. To boost local development in Balh, Sukhu announced new Jal Shakti and Electricity Board divisions, a DSP office at Nerchowk, and a CBSE school in Gurkota. He also sanctioned ₹3 crore for local water schemes, ₹3 crore for PWD road repairs, ₹1 crore for a waste dumping site, ₹50 lakh for Kansa Stadium, and upcoming recruitment for 800 police constables alongside a ₹23-crore MRI machine at Nerchowk Medical College.
