The National Science Centre, Delhi, will mark World Earth Day 2026 on April 22 with a special programme dedicated to environmental awareness and scientific learning. This year’s global theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” emphasizes shared responsibility in protecting and preserving Earth’s ecosystems.
The celebration will begin with a Popular Science Lecture titled “Exploring Antarctica: A Journey to the White Continent” at 10:00 AM. The session will be delivered by Dr. Amitava Sen Gupta, Distinguished Professor at the Department of Space, ISRO, and will highlight scientific research and discoveries related to Antarctica’s unique environment.
Following the lecture, at 11:00 AM, the Centre will conduct an Open House Quiz Contest for students. The interactive competition aims to engage young participants in topics related to environmental science and biodiversity, encouraging curiosity and awareness about ecological conservation.
Through such initiatives, the National Science Centre continues to promote scientific engagement among students and connect them with leading experts, reinforcing the importance of science in addressing global environmental challenges.
