Positive and job-oriented education is the main goal of the government. During his three-day visit to the Jubbal-Kotkhai region, Minister of Education, Technical Education, Vocational and Industrial Training Rohit Thakur expressed this idea as the chief guest during the 34th annual prize distribution ceremony at Lal Bahadur Shastri Government College Saraswati Nagar. He stated that providing technical education has been a significant contribution to bringing the state into the category of developed states. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is striving to make the state a leader in the field of education. He mentioned that the aim is to open Rajiv Gandhi Model Schools in all assembly constituencies of the state, including the Jubbal-Kotkhai-Nawar constituency. These schools will have all the facilities.

He added that the department’s vacant positions will be filled within a specified period. The Minister of Education recently visited Lal Bahadur Shastri Government College in Saraswati Nagar and directed the process of tendering for the construction of an auditorium worth 42 lakhs in the college. The Minister also announced the status of an excellent school for the college and stated that the college would receive numerous benefits from the amount allocated for meeting all the necessary requirements under the NAC. Additionally, the Minister instructed the college to start three PG courses and two vocational subjects. The Minister mentioned that the government’s primary objective is to provide modernization and vocational training in colleges so that the youth of the region and state can become self-reliant.

During this period, the Education Minister also distributed awards to outstanding students in the college for the academic year 2022-23. The Principal of the college, Prem Prakash Chauhan, provided detailed information on the work done in the year 2022-23 and also informed about the problems in the college. Cultural programs were also presented by the students during this time. Rohit Thakur, the Education Minister of the state of Himachal Pradesh, recently visited Rohdu Circuit House and interacted with the local residents. During his visit, he announced the revival of the old pension scheme, which will benefit around 136,000 employees. He also implemented the Sukh Ashraya Assistance Scheme and increased the age limit for the care of orphaned children to 27 years. Additionally, the government will bear the expenses of his higher education.

Thakur also highlighted the state government’s plan to promote electric vehicles in Himachal Pradesh under the Chief Minister’s visionary scheme. This initiative will contribute to environmental conservation and enhance the development of tourist destinations. Mohan Lal Bragta, the Chief Parliamentary Secretary, welcomed and congratulated the Education Minister during his visit. Thakur also acknowledged the unique identity of Rohdu sub-division in the field of horticulture. He assured the people of the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure, including roads, electricity, and water supply, to support tourism in the area. During his visit, he also inspected the B. Pharmacy College in Rohdu and listened to the grievances of the people, ensuring them of his commitment to resolving their issues.
