Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today interacted via video call with 31 children from Child Care Institutions (CCIs) of Sundernagar, Talyar, Bharnal, and Dehar in Mandi district. The children are on an educational and experiential tour to Chandigarh and Jaipur under the Mukhyamantri Sukh-Aashray Yojana.
During the interaction, the CM encouraged the children to make the most of the tour, highlighting its value in providing practical exposure and enhancing understanding of various subjects. He inquired whether they had flown before, and the children excitedly shared it was their first flight experience.
He also checked on their accommodation and food arrangements and advised them to stay focused on studies, especially with upcoming examinations. The Chief Minister assured that the state government is committed to their well-being and support up to the age of 27 years.
The CM emphasized that the Mukhyamantri Sukh-Aashray Yojana is aimed not only at protection but also at creating opportunities to ensure a secure and dignified future for orphaned children. The tour is designed to familiarize children with national integration, cultural heritage, modern infrastructure, and educational institutions, fostering holistic development, self-confidence, curiosity, and social awareness.
He directed officials to ensure the children’s safety, comfort, and overall well-being throughout the tour.
