Himachal Pradesh has earmarked Rs 20 crore in the state budget for the Himachal Pradesh Council for Science, Technology and Environment, announced Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania. The funds aim to strengthen science, innovation, and environmental programs across the state through the network of Appropriate Technology Centres (ATCs).

Speaking at Government Senior Secondary School, Rajol, Pathania expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for the allocation, highlighting its potential to give a significant push to scientific awareness and sustainable initiatives in Himachal.

In a related event, 40 students from 14 schools in Kangra and Chamba districts were flagged off for a nature camp organized by ATC Shahpur. The camp will include visits to Palampur Science City, Gopalpur Zoo, and local tea gardens, offering students practical exposure to environmental conservation, scientific study, and biodiversity.

Pathania urged the students to bring back insights, innovative ideas, and suggestions, underlining the importance of nurturing curiosity and scientific thinking from a young age. He also extended his greetings to students, teachers, and parents on the occasion of World Meteorological Day.

Dr. Sunanda Pathania, Scientific Officer and in-charge of ATC Shahpur, welcomed the MLA and briefed the participants about the camp. The students departed amid the presence of school principals, teachers, officials, and local representatives.
