The Junior Speech Day of Auckland House School was held here today as tiny tots presented few amazing performances and danced on some foot tapping numbers. Nisha Bhaluni Principal, Govt. Sr. Sec. School Portmore, Shimla, graced the occasion as the chief guest who was warmly greeted by the Director-Principal Sunita John, Auckland Boys School Principal Micheal A John and Junior Wing Coordinator Vanita Wilson. Avni Chandel presented a beautiful bouquet as she welcomed the chief guest.
The morning began with the lighting of the lamp followed by a welcome song ‘teri hai zameen tera aasman‘ by students of Form I and II. The Musical Play ‘Noha’s Ark’ enthralled the audience as Noah does God’s bidding and makes an ark which carries his family and all the animals into a new world of peace and hope. Each character played her role with great precision and poise. It was then time for the little ones of Form Nursery to dazzle all as they danced on an English number ‘my heart goes sha la la la‘. The children made their parents proud by displaying forth their hidden talents with participation in the entire programme.
Hindi play titled ‘Jal Bachao‘ won lots of accolades as Form I kids highlighted the importance of saving water and by doing simple acts such as not using a shower or washing the car with a bucket of water. Thereafter, the Upper Kindergarten kids danced sweetly on the song ‘it’s a beautiful day’.
The grand finale was a string of folk dances of India as children of Nursery to Form II gave some amazing performances. The kids danced on Dogri, Haryanvi, Rajasthani, Goan and Himachali folk songs.
As the day ended, a brief report of the school’s academic progress of the junior wing was given by the Director Principal Sunita John highlighting the achievements of the students in the year 2016. The chief guest then applauded the staff and the students for their hard work and congratulated them for putting up a grand show.
The programme came to an end with the distribution of prizes for outstanding performances in academics, art and conduct. The students won prizes for excelling in academics, good all round, steady work, computer science, art and good conduct. (For Videos Click here)
