In a landmark move aimed at promoting transparency, accountability and ease of doing business, the Department of State Taxes & Excise has announced that retail excise liquor vends and entry toll barriers for the financial year 2026–27 will be allotted through a fully online e-Auction process for the first time in the state.

The e-Auction will be conducted unit-wise, with separate online bids invited for each unit comprising retail liquor vends. Applicants will be able to participate remotely from their homes or offices, ensuring a streamlined and accessible bidding process.

Commissioner, State Taxes & Excise, Dr. Yunus stated that all applicants must register on the designated e-Auction portal using a valid Digital Signature Certificate (DSC). Only bids submitted through the official online portal will be accepted. The e-Auction link will be available on the Department’s official website.

He advised prospective bidders to thoroughly review the Excise Policy 2026–27, Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs), and user manuals before participating. These documents will be accessible on the departmental website and the e-Auction portal.

Bidders have also been urged to regularly check the official website for updates, notifications and detailed guidelines. To ensure smooth participation, the Department has set up dedicated helpline numbers at its headquarters and zonal offices to assist applicants throughout the process.
