CM Sukhu today provided significant financial relief to disaster-affected families by distributing ₹81.28 crore to 4,914 beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) during a function held at Paddal Ground, Mandi.

Out of these, 1,513 families whose houses were completely damaged received the first installment of ₹4 lakh each out of the total ₹7 lakh assistance. Among them, 781 beneficiaries belong to Mandi district, 631 to Kullu, and 101 to Bilaspur. Additionally, 3,401 beneficiaries whose houses were partially damaged were provided ₹1 lakh each, including 1,547 from Mandi, 1,541 from Kullu, and 313 from Bilaspur.

So far, the state government has distributed ₹14.46 crore to 4,375 affected families in Mandi district alone. The government is also implementing 27 disaster mitigation projects worth ₹72 crore in the district. Moreover, the State Executive Committee has approved five new projects estimated at ₹18.84 crore, while proposals for seven more are being prepared.

The Chief Minister also launched the ‘Madhu Mandav’ initiative in Mandi district to promote beekeeping as a livelihood option, particularly in disaster-affected regions. Beneficiaries under this scheme will receive financial aid, training, and technical support to establish beekeeping units. The honey produced will be marketed under the brand name “Him-Era Mandav.”

During the event, the Chief Minister extended special support to Nikita, a young girl who lost both her parents in the floods at Panglyur (Seraj Assembly Constituency). He handed over a cheque of ₹7.95 lakh to her and announced additional financial assistance of ₹21 lakh. CM Sukhu said that the government stands firmly with children like Nikita and will ensure they receive all possible support and care.

The Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to providing timely assistance, rebuilding lives, and strengthening disaster resilience across Himachal Pradesh.
