After a 23-year hiatus, the Rampur Forest Circle is set to host the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department’s 27th Annual State Sports and Duty Meet from September 11 to 13. The three-day tournament offers around 1,000 frontline field staff and senior administrative officers a platform to step away from routine forestry duties and showcase their athletic skills.
Head of Forest Force and Chief Project Director (JICA Forestry Project), Dr. Sanjay Sood, presided over a video conference with Conservators and Divisional Forest Officers from all circles to outline preparations. Dr. Sood instructed the host committee to ensure seamless execution across all logistics.
Matches will take place across three designated venues: Patbangla Government College Ground, Rampur Senior Secondary School Ground, and the Dattnagar Sports Ground.
Preparations are being supervised on the ground by C.B. Tahsildar, Conservator of Forests (Rampur Circle) and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, alongside Rampur DFO Gurharsh Singh. Detailed plans have been deployed to handle athlete lodging, catering, transit, medical care, venue maintenance, and overall event security.
