At the heart of this musical lies a profound analysis of karma-yoga as presented in the Bhagavad Gita, a timeless gift from the Vedas and the Upanishads. Tilak penned this insightful work while incarcerated in Mandalay, Burma, in 1915, underlining the essence of selfless action (Nishkam Karmayoga) as the true message of the Bhagavad Gita.
