Governor Inaugurates Blood Bank Unit and Red Cross Initiatives


The Governor also inaugurated a new Blood Bank Component Separation Unit in Balavanh, built at a cost of approximately Rs. 2 crore through the initiative of the Indian Red Cross Society, Himachal Pradesh, and Kinvan Private Limited’s CSR efforts. Additionally, the Governor visited the exhibition and various stalls set up by different organizations, including a blood donation camp.

Governor Shukla launched a state-wide campaign against drug abuse, particularly focused on engaging Panchayati Raj Institutions and women in the fight. He expressed concern over the rapid rise of drug-related issues in Himachal Pradesh, noting that the solution must start at the household level.

The Governor flagged off an anti-drugs rally and called for the active participation of women in the Jan Jagran Abhiyan for de-addiction. He stated that efforts to make Himachal Pradesh drug-free would be supported by the collective action of all citizens, especially women.

On the occasion, the Governor released the book “Kainth ke Ped,” authored by Rajot Singh, and honored key donors, including Manoj Aggarwal, Shashi Kaushal, Surender Sharma, and Chaudhary Harbhajan Singh for their contributions.
