Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar today flagged off two Ambulances from Raj Bhavan through State Red Cross Society. Dr. Sadhna Thakur, Member, National Red Cross Management Committee and Chairperson of State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section was also present on the occasion. The Governor, who is also the President of the State Red Cross Society, said that the Red Cross has an important contribution in the service of the suffering humanity.
He said that many activities were being organized in the State through the State Red Cross which was helpful in the interest of the weaker and neglected sections of the society. Out of two vehicles, one basic life support Ambulance would be operated by Mandi district and the other advanced life support Ambulance would be operated by the State Red Cross. These vehicles have been provided by the National Red Cross Society, New Delhi to the State Red Cross. Secretary to the Governor Vivek Bhatia was also present on the occasion.
