Thirty trainee officers of the Himachal Pradesh Finance and Accounts Service (HPF&AS), currently undergoing training at the Dr. Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (MSHIPA), met Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan today.
Extending his congratulations, the Governor praised the officers for their hard work and dedication, noting that their selection reflects a strong commitment to public service. He highlighted the vital role they will soon play in maintaining sound financial management across the State and urged them to uphold public interest as their top priority. Integrity, discipline, and a sincere sense of duty, he said, must guide their service.
Governor Shukla reminded the trainees that in public administration, responsibilities must be held above rights, emphasizing that their work should always aim at the welfare of the people of Himachal Pradesh.
He also stressed the need for transparency and accountability, encouraging the officers to carry forward their careers with honesty, professionalism, and a service-oriented mindset to strengthen governance and development in the State.
During the meeting, Course Director Dinesh Sharma briefed the Governor on the training programme’s structure and objectives. MSHIPA Director Rupali Thakur added that after completing the training, candidates must pass a two-part qualifying examination. Only those who clear both stages will be eligible for appointment by the Finance Department in various government departments and organizations across Himachal Pradesh.
