Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Wednesday paid heartfelt floral tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary at the historic Ridge in Shimla. Remembering Vajpayee as a leader who rose above partisan lines, the Governor said he exemplified politics rooted in mutual respect, where debate never descended into hostility.
He noted that Vajpayee’s public life reflected elegance, optimism and integrity, values that remain deeply relevant for today’s political culture. The Governor described him as a visionary statesman and a steadfast nationalist whose leadership consistently prioritized the nation’s interests.
Recalling Vajpayee’s close association with Himachal Pradesh, the Governor said the former Prime Minister considered the state his second home. He added that Vajpayee’s remarkable contributions to India’s political and social fabric would continue to inspire generations.
