Governor Hosts ‘At Home’ on Independence Day

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla hosted the traditional ‘At Home’ function at Raj Bhavan, Shimla, to mark the 79th Independence Day. The event was attended by dignitaries from the judiciary, government, armed forces, and civil society, celebrating the spirit of national pride and unity.

Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia, and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri were among the distinguished guests present. Lady Governor Janaki Shukla also graced the occasion.

The gathering included Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Mahajan, High Court judges, MLA Harish Janartha, State Congress President and former MP Pratibha Singh, GOC-in-C ARTRAC Lt. General Devendra Sharma, and several chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of various Boards, Commissions, and Corporations.

Mayor of Shimla Surinder Chauhan and Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, Vice Chancellors of universities, senior officers from central and state services, police, military, ex-servicemen, and prominent citizens of the town also participated in the event. The reception fostered a warm atmosphere of celebration, camaraderie, and patriotic fervor.
