Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla visited disaster-affected regions in the Chamba sub-division on Monday to assess the situation on the ground and take stock of the damage caused by recent landslides and related calamities.
During his visit, the Governor interacted with local residents and listened to their concerns. He directed the concerned departments to take swift and effective action to address the grievances of the affected people and expedite restoration efforts.
Governor Shukla inspected the landslide-hit section of the National Highway in Gram Panchayat Kariyan and further reviewed the damaged portions at Kalsuin and Gharwala. He also visited Lothal Ghar to evaluate the impact of the disaster.
In a spiritual gesture, the Governor offered prayers at the historic Trilochan Mahadev Temple, located near Gharwala, and prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the people of the state.
Deputy Commissioner, Chamba, Mukesh Repswal briefed the Governor about the extent of damages and the ongoing relief and restoration efforts being undertaken by the district administration.
Several dignitaries accompanied the Governor, including MLAs Neeraj Nayar, Vipin Parmar, Dr. Janak Raj, and D.S. Thakur, BJP District President Dheeraj Naryal, Governor’s Secretary C.P. Verma, SP Abhishek Yadav, and senior officials from various departments and the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).
